September Virtual Sketch
This is the second time that I have actually participated in this monthly event...it is so much fun. I almost missed out this month...forgotten all about it until the day before the event was over...phew. This is a beautiful tree peony. I tried to do "pure"watercolor, but was so hard with the paleness of the colors, that I had to resort to my all time favorite of pen and ink. Was a great and beautiful photograph to be challenged with. thank you.

Love this !! I hope to try it today- if I can get the house clean enough to walk to my studio - am I missing a link to your flickr? I'd love to see your dead sunflowers
Beautiful Susan! Wonderful! interpretation. Will load mine a little later.
Your welcome about the "Black does not occur in Nature". That should be one of the first things you learn as an artist.
Need your flickr too!

Fabulous and so fast too! It was my first attempt and I am well and truly hooked.
I can tell you enjoyed doing this, it has such verve!
Susan, I am impressed that you could work from this complex reference so quickly. You have nice colors in your peony.
This is a lovely version of this reference. The soft colours and looseness are appealing.
You've done a nice crop here...the flower just fills it! Glad you were a part again.
What a great watercolor! I really like this.
I love the background!
I think it makes this.
Your painting is evocative of a summer day with the curtains blowing...
I like the colors you chose, Susan - they give a very different feel to this and your watercolor is light and lovely.
Very nice Susan, you work fast. I really like your color choices and the way the flower petals flow.
Reminds me of a spring day. Can you smell the sprinkles?? Nice.
Lovely interpretation. I love pen and wash as well
I like the add ink!
