This is for the Virtual Sketch Day to be posted on Saturday, but wanted to get it on line as we are doing the Sketch Crawl (www.sketchcrawl.com) where I work on Saturday and wanted to have this completed...also it is the big Michigan State vs. Michigan game and we have a tailgate party tomorrow night for hospital donations! I painted 11 pumpkins for centerpieces!

Wonderful first attempt with a new medium, but it would still be impressive if it were your hundredth. Great job!

Very good for your first attempt with soft pastels. A very splended job.

I really like this. It has a soft fluid feel accented by the striped wall. Wonderful.

Beautiful! I like how you did the background, too.

Love, love, love the way this looks. Like a cubist Cezanne.
Now I am going to go 'artist hunting' to discover the artist I think it resembles...

Scratch that "cubist cezanne" reference...
it's Matisse...

Very nice. You've got lovely smooth liquid shapes and a soft touch. Beautiful.

I like what you did with the background. I usually chicken out and leave it out!

Looks like you had a lot of fun with this, especially creating the various background elements! You put a lot of your own vision into this and it's a great interpretation.

What a jazzy backround. Very interesting.

Oh this is different! I like the swirly background and the fluid feel. Those pears look as if they are having a conversation!

The patterns and graphic quality of the composition is very nice!

You have an interesting graphic backgrond against the smooth shapes fo the pears. It gives your piece a nice contrast.
